ALWAYS WANTED TO VOLUNTEER? Here's a chance to become a volunteer at the HdG Maritime Museum from 9 am - 1pm. - this is the first of 6 sessions (last Saturday of month - Jan thru June) The year 2008 promises to be one filled with many exciting changes and new projects. Volunteers are needed in all areas of the museum, including docents, data entry and office tasks, maintenance and landscaping, buildng and construction management, children's educational and reading programs, and weekend desk duty. Being a museum volunteer is a great way to meet new friends, explore the history of our region, and develop new hobbies. Please register by January 21. (lunch will be provided) Call: 410-939-4800

The HdG Yacht Club is sponsoring this annual race of the beautiful J-24 one-design sailboats. This year it's part of the District 6 Championship Series to select representatives to the 2009 Championships in Annapolis. Races begin Sat at 11 a.m. and Sun. at 10 a.m. For viewing, the base of operations is at Tidewater Marina, foot of Bourbon Street. Of course, along the shoreline or any of the restaurant decks, etc., offer a view - as well as possibly from the Promenade.
